For independent instructors

You are the school, the schedule, and the invoice.

One person doing four jobs, three of which happen on a phone at nine at night. Put your students, your availability, and what each of them owes in one place, and stop reconstructing the week from your text messages.

Free forever for one aircraft, no credit card · Works whether you own the airplane or rent it

What working for yourself actually costs

The flying is the part that pays. Everything else is unpaid admin.

The schedule lives in four different threads

Texts, an email, a DM, and one student who still calls. You are the only index, so a double-booking is not a system failure, it is a memory failure, and it happens on the week you are busiest.

A no-show is your entire morning

A school absorbs an empty slot across a dozen instructors. You absorb it yourself. Nobody is charged, nothing is recorded, and by the third time you still cannot say whether it is a pattern or bad luck.

You are tracking currency in your head

Whose flight review is due, whose medical lapses in March, who is not night current for the flight they just asked for. Carrying it mentally works right up until the month you have eleven students instead of four.

Invoicing is a Sunday evening job

Hobbs times off a kneeboard, a rate in your head, and a calculator. It takes an hour a week, it is the part most likely to have an error in it, and the error is always in the student's favour.

What you get for the price of nothing

One place for the students, the slots, and the money.

Students book, you confirm

They request a slot against the rules you set: how far ahead, how long, how late they can cancel. You approve or move it. The thread stops being the schedule.

Currency tracked and enforced

Flight review, medical, night and IFR currency per student, with the booking refused at the point a lapsed student tries to make it. You can override with a reason when there is one.

Statements that write themselves

Log Hobbs and tach at the end of the flight and the charge is computed from the rates in effect that day, aircraft and instruction separately. Each student can see their own running statement.

A booking page you can send to a stranger

A public discovery-flight link for the enquiries that arrive from a Facebook group or a friend of a student, so a first lesson gets booked without a phone call you were not free to take.

Your own year, exportable

Full booking history and CSV export on any paid plan, which is the version of your year that an accountant can actually use.

Live aircraft position from ADS-B

Not yet shipped

Where the airplane is right now, so a student is not waiting on a ramp for one that is still forty miles out.

Currency tracking is an administrative aid. It reflects the records entered into the system and does not replace the pilot in command's responsibility to determine their own currency and the aircraft's airworthiness under FAR 61.56, 61.57, and 91.3.

What it costs

Most independent CFIs never need to pay us.

The plans are priced by aircraft. If you instruct in one airplane, or in the club's, or in whatever your student turns up in, the free plan covers you permanently. It is worth saying plainly rather than burying: we would rather you used it free for two years and told another instructor.

See all four plans
  • One aircraft and one instructor, free forever, with no card and no expiry
  • Unlimited students on every plan, including the free one
  • Ninety days of booking history on free; the full history on any paid plan
  • Up to 3 aircraft is $19 a month if you run your own small fleet

Questions from instructors working for themselves

What CFIs ask before they move their students across.

I do not own an airplane. Is this still useful?
Yes, and it is the common case. Add the aircraft you usually instruct in, whether it belongs to a club, a school, or the student, and use the calendar for your own availability and your students' bookings. The aircraft record is there to hang the schedule and the rates on; nobody checks the title.
Will I actually stay on the free plan?
If you instruct in one airplane, yes, indefinitely. The free plan is one aircraft and one instructor with unlimited students, no card and no expiry. The two things it does not include are booking history older than 90 days and CSV export, which is what most instructors eventually upgrade for at tax time rather than for any limit they hit day to day.
Does it handle endorsements and 8710s?
No. It is not a training-records system and it does not hold endorsements, stage checks, or IACRA paperwork. It handles the schedule, student currency, and what each student owes. Your logbook and your endorsement records stay wherever they are now.
Can I charge for my time as well as the airplane?
Yes. Instruction and aircraft are charged separately, and instructor time is entered rather than derived from the Hobbs, because a CFI's clock covers the briefing and the debrief too. Rates are captured as a snapshot at the time of the flight, so raising your rate never reprices lessons somebody has already taken.
What happens if I take on a second instructor?
Instructor accounts are unlimited on every paid plan, so at that point the only question is how many aircraft you are dispatching. The free plan is the one that holds you to a single instructor.
How long does setup take?
Under an hour. Add the aircraft you instruct in with its rate, invite your students, and let them start requesting slots. It runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install. If you already keep a student list in a spreadsheet, you can import it rather than retyping it.

Running something else? The same tool, argued for the other operation.
